In honor of National First-Generation College Celebration month, all departments and schools across Harvard are invited to nominate a First-Gen or Next Gen Student to recognize for their contributions to the Harvard community. Nominated students will be featured on the Next Gen Initiative website during the month of December.
Categories for contributions include:

Community Leadership: Demonstrated commitment to peer-to-peer support, collaborations, and mentoring support. Community advocate and trusted resource among students, staff, and faculty.

Innovation/Contribution to the Field: Creative solutions to challenging problems in and beyond the classroom. Curricular and co-curricular program design; project development; experimental or innovative research; publications, etc.

Civic Engagement: Mobilizing and organizing efforts to support civic engagement opportunities, social justice, equity, voter education, sustainability, and other forms of collective.

University Service: Impactful effort to create a culture shift at Harvard in one of the four key areas outlined in the Presidential Task Force for Inclusion and Belonging Final Report.
