Assistant Dean, Civic Engagement and Service
Travis Lovett serves as the Assistant Dean of Civic Engagement and Service at Harvard College. Through his work, Travis is responsible for communications, partnership building, and mobilizing key stakeholders to broaden and deepen Harvard’s community engagement efforts. These efforts have included expanding Harvard's First-Year Day of Service as a class-wide activity, launching the Service Starts with Summer Program (3SP) for incoming students, and building a comprehensive national summer fellowship program that matches 75 students with leading public service organizations across the U.S. Travis earned his M.A. in Public Policy and Administration from Northwestern University. He also earned a M.A. in Journalism from Northeastern University and a B.S. in Integrated Science and Technology from James Madison University. In 2016, Travis received the Harvard University Impact Award in recognition of “truly outstanding, sustained superior performance, and exceptional effectiveness.” He was one of five founding members of YNPN Boston, a nonprofit professional development organization focused on youth leadership engagement. He lives in Beverly, Massachusetts with his family, Katie, Lucy, and Julianne.
