Summer Opportunities

Harvard College provides sponsorship to over 500 students each summer to explore full-time public service experiences.  The tables below will help you to find which opportunities are most relevant to your interests.

Harvard Global Health Institute (HGHI) Summer Research and Internship Programs Feb. 2, 2020 60+ opportunities for students to pursue summer research on public and global health work
Institute of Politics Director’s Internships Feb. 2, 2020 100+ summer opportunities to explore politics and public service working for campaigns, advocacy groups, elected officials, think tanks, and more; all students pursuing service based in Washington, DC can also participate in the IOP Summer In Washington Program
PBHA’s Summer Urban Program Feb. 2, 2020 70+ summer opportunities to work on youth enrichment and leadership development in the Greater Boston area
HCRP-Mindich Program in Community Engaged Research (PCER-Field) Program  

this summer’s PCER-Field program will focus on community-engaged inquiry projects in St. Louis – the research this summer will include supporting ongoing litigation involving housing discrimination and environmental racism issues

Arthur Liman Public Interest Law Fellowship   4-5 fellowships are awarded to returning undergraduates who demonstrate a commitment to public interest law
Harvard Clubs Summer Community Service Fellowship   30+ fellowships are awarded to students who develop high-quality projects that respond to community needs in conjunction with Harvard Clubs and Shared Interest Groups
Institute of Politics Summer Stipend   100+ students are sponsored through this program to explore service work with nonprofit organizations, government agencies, campaigns, think tanks, and elected officials
Presidential Public Service Fellowship   5-7 fellowships are awarded to students who demonstrate an ongoing commitment to serve the public good – students submit independent project ideas for fellowship consideration
8 Week International Experience Grants   Students who want to pursue international service experiences can apply through the Office of Career Services for funding and support
