Patrick joined IQSS in December, 2017 after spending more than 28 years at the Weatherhead Center for International Affairs, where he served most recently as its Director of Finance. Patrick’s role at IQSS is to oversee the administrative team that have responsibilities related to sponsored research, financial transactions, space management, budgeting, human resources, events, and student programs. In addition, he works closely with IQSS Executive Director Elizabeth Jackson on medium- and long-term strategic issues. He is a member of the University Problem Solving Team (UPST) and is the academic advisor for three Harvard first year undergraduates.

Patrick is also a regular contributor of essays to the Boston Globe Magazine, and in the 1990s received a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts to write and produce a fictional radio series. When he has the time, he brews a variety of Belgian ales. He lives in Boston with his wife, two children, and two cats.
