Director's welcome
Science is not only for scientists and engineers, but permeates all of our lives. The methodology can be applied to virtually every academic and career pursuit (or even tasks in our everday lives, for example - consuming the news). PSIL emphasizes and demonstrates this by delivering a curriculum that has the scientific method as its foundation with the goal of holistic development. PSIL welcomes students from all academic fields (the more diverse the better!) and the only prerequisite to apply is proficiency in English.
I was born in Imphal, Manipur and lived there for 16 years. Through PSIL, I aim to share with the students of Manipur one of Harvard's most valuable resource - some of its best minds. I was lucky to have many great mentors during my formative years and the best way to pay it forward is by establishing this program to bring some excellent mentors from Harvard to Manipur!
PSIL '19 was conducted in Don Bosco Chingmeirong from Jan 15-19 and thanks to the efforts of many individuals, it was a huge success! A unanimous comment from the feedback we received from the participants was that they wished the program was longer. We are happy to announce that PSIL '20 will be a residential program at St. Paul's retreat house in Mantripukhri from Jan 14-18! This will allow us to make the curriculum more intensive and spend more time with the students. We have partnered with Bosco Mangaal, the social service wing of Don Bosco, who will be taking care of logistics and also serve as Residential Superintendents.
