Harvard's Science Education Research Laboratory (SERL) assesses and investigates pedagogies across all science disciplines.

Education itself is both an art and a science – wherever possible, we aim to look at education scientifically. We believe that practices in our classrooms should be informed by evidence. SERL investigates current practices as well as those that have potential for improving the effectiveness of science education.
