The Union of Concerned Scientists (UCS) was founded in 1969 by scientists and students at MIT. UCS founders were passionate about using scientific research to solve pressing environmental and social problems, and away from being used for military technologies.

Today, the UCS still holds true to that mission by using science to advocate for societal and environmental change. Join us for a conversation with UCS staff members that will speak to why science policy advocacy is so important, offer concrete examples of how to mobilize scientists, as well as the types of tools and resources the UCS Science Network can provide to early career scientists.
