Dr. Eduardo Gomor dos Santos is an activist, civil servant at the National School of Public Administration, and researcher associated at the Center for Studies and Research in Social Policy at the University of Brasilia. He was visiting scholar at the Brazil Studies Center at the University of Oklahoma, in fall 2019, when he investigated Black feminism, with the research “Rap and Black feminist thought in Brazil”. He holds a PhD in Social Policy at the University of Brasilia (2017), with the doctoral dissertation “Hip Hop and Latin America: relations between culture, aesthetics and emancipation”, analyzing the possibilities of political emancipation from Hip Hop initiatives, in aesthetic and social mobilization dimensions, in the cases of Brazil, Cuba and Colombia. His current studies include rap and Black feminist thought and racial affirmative actions, with emphasis on Law 12,711 (federal higher education) and Law 12,990 (civil servant exams).
