Catherine Zhang is an educator, mentor, and activist and holds her M.Ed from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and a B.A. in Psychology and Educational Studies from Harvard College. She served as Student Body President when she was an undergraduate at Harvard, and taught English in Taiwan on the Fulbright Scholarship following graduation. She has also taught 9th grade World History at a high school in Boston, served as the Head Teaching Fellow for a popular Harvard College course on conflict resolution and negotiation, and helped create the flagship course "Brave Leadership: Courage and Transformation in US Higher Education" with Professor Tim McCarthy and Professor Susan Marine at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. She has a background in facilitation and advising -- she has trained over 70 facilitators to lead discussion groups on antiracism, created curriculum to encourage dialogue, hosts workshops to global leaders on conflict resolution, and currently advises first-year Harvard College students. Catherine teaches explicit social-emotional skills to students around the United States with the organization EverScouts and alongside Professor Manja Klemencic to teach student leadership in higher education at Harvard.
