I study the biomechanics of the human foot to identify relationships between its musculoskeletal structure and function. My research has implications to our understanding of human evolution, how modern footwear affects locomotion biomechanics, and how certain foot disorders could be managed. Putting my engineering background to use, I am also working on building wearable electronic sensors that can measure gait parameters and skeletal loading during physical activity.
