TRACTS

TRACTS, the Translational Research Center for Traumatic Brain Injury and Stress Disorders, is our larger, “parent” study to STEP-Home. TRACTS is a National Center for TBI Research committed to conducting the highest quality research on the unique problems faced by our nation’s newest Veterans from Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom (OEF/OIF) and Operation New Dawn (OND). The research mission of TRACTS is to help understand deployment related trauma (such as traumatic brain injury (TBI) and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)) with the goal of developing innovative treatments for the Veteran population. TRACTS has been studying Veterans from OEF/OIF for the past 10 years.  Based on our research findings and direct feedback from the Veterans, we have developed STEP-Home for post-9/11 Veterans who may be struggling to adjust to life back home and who are dealing with issues such as managing anger, relationships, brain injury, and other common post-deployment challenges.
