Amin Mawji is the Diplomatic Representative of the Aga Khan Development Network in Uganda.  He is a former President of the Shia Imami Ismaili National Council for the UK and a Founding Trustee of Freedom Declared Foundation, a UK Charity promoting freedom of religion or belief. 

Amin graduated in Economics from the London School of Economics and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England. He was formerly a senior Partner at Ernst & Young (EY), based in London. Upon retirement from professional practice, he was appointed by the UK Government to the Board of UK Export Finance and the UK Trade & Industry Board. He has also served on the Boards of Sightsavers International and the Kyrgyz Investment & Credit Bank. He currently serves on the Board of the Aga Khan University and on the Audit and Risk Committee of the University of Central Asia. 

Amin has been named as one of Britain’s Top 100 BAME Business Leaders and as one of Britain’s Muslim Power100. He is the first recipient of the British Muslim Award for services to Finance and was appointed an Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (OBE) for his public service. His recent publication entitled ‘Poverty to Prosperity” brings best practice ideas on the role civil society can play in international development.
