Wenjuan Qin is a doctoral candidate at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. With a combined interest in linguistics and education, her research primarily focus on language development of children from various sociocultural backgrounds, and how that development is shaped by both home and school contexts. Currently at HGSE, she conducts empirical studies, both quantitative and qualitative in nature, to address three lines of research area:
1. Writing development of first and second language learners, especially how they deploy different linguistic forms to write across genres, registers and communicative contexts.
2. The development of academic language skills that support successful school-relevant reading and writing.
3. The influence of home literacy activity on children's language development
