The Visiting Dance Innovators Program (VDIP), co-presented by Harvard Dance Center and Theater, Dance & Media, brings exemplary dance artists and scholars to campus for a multi-pronged engagement around the expansive innovations in Dance Studies, embodied research, and artistic methods of practice. VDIP builds bridges for university partnerships creating cross-disciplinary connections, illuminating the relevance of Dance Studies.

On campus activities include a movement-based workshop in the artist’s practice and methodologies, an artist-led conversation, and a visit to curricular course(s). The program also includes a virtual panel discussion bringing together all VDIP artists, led by Theater, Dance & Media faculty and Interim Head of Dance LROD (Laura Rodriguez), fostering reflection, continued dialogue, and shared narratives between communities.

The Visiting Dance Innovators Program is funded by The Provostial Fund for the Arts and Humanities with additional support from the Office for the Arts at Harvard, and Theater, Dance & Media.
