Kirsten Leonard joined Harvard Dance Center in September 2019, building upon a nearly 20 year-career as an arts administrator in the professional ballet world. Having worked for both American Ballet Theatre as well as Boston Ballet, where she served as Company Manager for 13 years, Leonard brings to Harvard familiarity with dance industry practices, traditions, and working knowledge of collective bargaining agreements, contract negotiation, budget management, immigration law, and healthcare administration. She has led more than a dozen national and international tours, worked extensively with a wide variety of renowned artists, and served as a co-chair for the Company Management Council at Dance/USA. As Administrative Manager for Dance, she incorporates these administrative skills to serving the Dance Center's Visiting Artist Series, Non-Credit Classes, and annual events, such as Harvard Dance Project, while insuring smooth operations for staff and students alike.

Leonard is currently co-leading the Harvard Dance Center with Communications and Programs Coordinator for Dance Elizabeth Epsen, after the departure of former director Jill Johnson in July 2021.
