Julie is an MD/MPH student at Harvard Medical School and T.H Chan School of Public Health. She grew up in Miami, Florida, originally undocumented and later a DACA recipient and dreamer. She graduated from Mount Holyoke College in 2017, majoring in Neuroscience and Behavior. She worked for 1 year at BWH studying immunotherapy treatments for Alzheimer's, and 3 years at the University of Pennsylvania studying aberrant metabolic pathways present in breast cancer.  While in Philadelphia she also served as community engagement and clinic coordinator of Puentes de Salud, a community health center focused on caring for the city's undocumented population. She is planning on specializing in psychiatry, with the goal of expanding access to equitable healthcare for marginalized and immigrant communities.
