STGA Hosted an All-Member Reception on Oct.18th

On October 18, 2023, the STGA project hosted an All-Member reception. At the event, Professor Kleinman briefly introduced the origin of the STGA project and the proposal review procedure for the faculty applicants this academic year. He also announced that STGA will open the Student Affiliate role to Harvard students.

STGA is Calling for the Research Proposals

The Social Technology for Global Aging Research Initiative at Harvard (STGA) is inviting pre-selected Harvard faculty and graduate students to submit proposals for research projects related to improving eldercare in China.

Prof. Kleinman met with visitors from the China Partner Institute

From September 18th to 20th, Dr. Luo Benjin, the vice director of Jiangsu Industry Technology Research Institute, a Chinese partner institute of Harvard STGA, visited Professors Kleinman, Habbal, Forsyth and Krakauer at Harvard campus in Cambridge and introduced their current works in China.

Dr. Eric Krakauer was invited to teach the training course in China

October 5, 2023

Dr. Eric Krakauer has been working with his colleagues in Beijing Union Medical College Hospital Palliative Care Center to develop a training course for chinese local doctors since 2021. He was invited to go to China to co-teach the Palliative Care course this summer.

STGA Held Its Regular Seminar Featuring Palliative Care in China

On April 4th, the STGA held its regular seminar. Dr. Eric Krakauer, Dr. Zhimeng Jia, and their collaborator, Dr. Ning Xiaohong from Beijing Union Medical College Hospital, delivered presentations on their collaboration and collective efforts to improve Palliative Care in China.

In-person event for the Student Affiliates

STGA at Harvard hosted an in-person event for the Student Affiliates on March 28th. During the event, the Student Affiliates received their Participation Certificates. David Chen, a senior student affiliate, delivered an outstanding presentation based on his fieldwork last summer in China titled "Facing Death," with Prof. Arthur Kleinman leading the session and subsequent discussion. Professors Habbal and Chen joined the event.
