Nina BrooksNina Brooks, MPP, will present, "Reducing the Cost of Abortion: An Evaluation of Israeli Abortion Subsidies."

Nina is a Ph.D. Candidate in the Emmett Interdisciplinary Program in Environment and Resources at the School of Earth, Energy & Environmental Sciences at Stanford University. Her research interests lie at the intersection of development economics, environmental health and population studies. Her dissertation addresses two sets of questions. First, how do environmental factors, particularly air pollution, affect human health, and second, what are the impacts of policies affecting reproductive health access. Her work explores the impacts of both restricting and expanding expanding reproductive health access in two very different settings, as well as a series of studies documenting the environmental and health impacts of brick manufacturing in Bangladesh.  Before coming to Stanford, she worked as a Senior Research Analyst at NORC at the University of Chicago and Manager of Global Affairs for Global Footprint Network. She holds a Master of Public Policy from Duke University and a BA in International Political Economy from UC Berkeley.
