On April 28, 2006, Derrick Wang from the Bernstein's Boston course sat down briefly with violist and founding member of the Juilliard String Quartet Raphael Hillyer.  Hillyer and Bernstein were students together at Harvard University and at Tanglewood (then the Berkshire Music Center).  Hillyer also performed with Bernstein at the premiere of the Sonata for Violin and Piano in Cambridge, Massachusetts in 1940.  In this interview Hillyer discusses Bernstein's musical development during their Harvard years.
